Community pharmacy’s role is critical not just during the pandemic, it is playing a greater role in the primary healthcare system as the direction of NHS is to move more GP appointments to community pharmacy. Now, service is becoming one of the key drivers for community pharmacy to engage their patients and grow their business. A great example of how data is providing insights given in the panel is the projection of the flu service claims for 2020. This piece of information could help pharmacies to examine their current preparation and get ready for the coming flu season.
With the correct data analytics tools, pharmacy management will be able to get insights into the opportunities they could have missed out, as well as the benchmarking insights based on the NHS data from both national and local level. Being able to access this information will be key for community pharmacies to improve their patient interactions and drive their business performance.
