Bradleys Pharmacy won the Innovation in Service Development (Chain) category in the 2013 Irish Pharmacy News (IPN) Awards in the Burlington Hotel last Saturday evening. The IPN Awards is the industry event for pharmacies in the Republic of Ireland and the awards are the most sought after in this sector. The dinner was attended by over 500 people from the Industry.
In partnership with Bradleys Real World Retail implemented its Decision Support System following a strategic review. The requirement was for a bespoke but uncomplicated IT business tool to allow all the relevant information to be collated, for both the business and patient.
The tool allows them to manage their KPI’s and supports their Complete Customer Care program. Up to date dashboards, reports and modules can be called up at the click of a mouse or tap of the finger on a tablet computer.
Following implementation there were significant business benefits, Bradleys reduced the front of shop stockholding by over €350,000 and improved sales from fewer stock outs. Dispensary stock has been reduced by over €375,000 in the same period. Other modules in rwr help them manage their margins and sales.
Patient health benefits were brought about by evaluating likely ‘at risk’ patient groups. For instance, potential high risk cholesterol patients were identified due to their existing dispensed drug profiles and subsequently approached, suggesting that their blood cholesterol levels be screened.
Brian Pagni, CEO of Bradleys Pharmacy, said, “The Real World System eliminates overstocks and understocks, it has effectively put a lot more cash in our bank account and paid for itself many times over with this single benefit".
